Furry Tales

Around three years ago, I found my way to an online community known as Furcadia. It was home to members of the Furry Fandom as well as Artists and a huge variety of people will other interests. It was there that I first began publishing my art publicly and taking commissions. Here is a sample of some of my furry art. For those of you not in the know about who Furries are, here is a link to some information that may clue you in.

My character in Furcadia is Angel Blaze, should you ever wish to wander its pathways and come across me.

Art of the Furriest Nature!

This is Angel Blaze, my character on the Furcadia Community. She is a Gerbil. Though commonly mistaken for a mouse.

This is a piece of art that I drew for the Further Confusion event that is held in San Jose, California. It was given a full page within the convention booklet. My first published piece of art. It is called "The Dance of Dragons and Blossoms."

This is a fairly recent creation as it was finished last month. My girlfriends son, who is 8 years old at the moment, is currently very interested in Ninjas. I decided to create him a Raccoon Assassin. This image, in its original size is one of the hardest images I have drawn. It is not clear here, but every hair on this Raccoon was drawn in individually. It was painstaking, but worth it in the end.

This is an image from a year or so ago. It was a birthday present for my girlfriend. It is an image of her character in the Furry world, Holiday.

These are the characters of my girlfriend and her son. Holiday and Rundy.

                                                BADGE ART

This is one of my attempts at Chibi style art. It was a commission from a friend on Furcadia who wanted a badge made for her, as she was attending a convention for the Furry Fandom.

These are some badge art designs that I made for myself, my girlfriend and a couple of our friends. We were attending the Anthrocon convention in Pittsburgh, PA, in June of 2007. I wanted to make a simple design that followed the same style throughout.

Holidays son also got one.

These are three portraits created for characters on Furcadia.

                                           EARLY IMAGES

This is a character sketch of my character Angel Blaze, it was done 2 years go now. One of my first digital drawings.

This is one of the first sketches I ever made of Angel Blaze. She was a cat back then. This was done nearly three years ago.

This is the one of the first images of Holiday. It is the first completely digital image that I had drawn.

Another fairly old image. This was created for Holiday. She like everyone else with a heart was devastated by the 9/11 attacks on New York. This was a piece drawn for her showing her character in mourning.

This is one of the first furries that I ever drew. It is of a character named Purina.

Purina had several image changes over the course of a few months, before becoming Holiday.

This is Indigo Nightfall, a friend of mine. Back when this was drawn I didn't have my wacom tablet, so everything was hand drawn on paper then scanned in.

This is my first ever digital image. The character of Ro Kemuri was drawn on paper, scanned in, then a digital background was added. Once I figured out layers in Photoshop nothing could stop me!

This image can be seen more clearly at www.angel-blaze.deviantart.com however I wanted to put it on here to illustrate how far I have come in just over two years. I am continuing to learn.

Watch this space for two years time!
